The functions of all the applications are similar in some ways, yet suited to fit its purpose. Starting with the word processor, the functions of it are well suited to construct things such as papers, taking notes, and making lists. “A word processor is a common computer application for creating formatted text” (Vahid & Lysecky, 2017, sec. 5.1). The formatted text makes it easy to customize the document to fit any requirements or standards for the text. Unlike the word processor, the spreadsheet is used to record data. This application is a little more intricate and requires a little practiced to master. It includes different formulas to help calculate data. According to the text, an important spreadsheet feature allows a user to type a formula in a cell to compute that cell's value based on other cells' values (Vahid & Lysecky, 2017, sec. 5.2). The formulas can range from the easiest to the most difficult math equations. The presentation application is used to capture a more visual understanding of the topic. It uses picture, text, graphics, and animations. This application is typically used to give a presentation to an audience. A database is the collection of data and information. A database is a collection of data organized to enable efficient information retrieval (Vahid & Lysecky, 2017, sec. 5.4). These after commonly seen in companies. The main purpose is to keep track of data.
The advantages of these applications is that they each provide a way to convey information in its own way. The disadvantages is that each one takes practice to get the hang of.
I would recommend the word processor for documenting my day. I think it is simple and the most appropriate because you can capture everything you need to document your day.
For the spreadsheet application, a good scenario would be creating a budget. For teaching a subject, the presentation application would be the best option.
I appreciate the clean lines of your post. It is visually appealing to the eye. I absolutely agree that each Microsoft application provides a way for the user to covey and notate data. If there is a link where i can further read the information you have cited in your blog?
