I feel this discussion is not as challenging to think about, but it is a good topic to talk about. In fact, I don't even think that one would need basic knowledge on Information Technology to answer this question. Almost every job has some type technology that their employees will need to know how to use. A lot of jobs even require their employees to clock in on some type of device, sometimes even their own personal phones. The industry I am choosing is my own military career. Speaking for my job specifically, I work directly on a laptop everyday, all day. My job requires me to be proficient at Microsoft Offices, using the internet, and other things like that. In the military, in general, it is important for one to check his/her emails frequently, for that is how you communicate and get update and things of that nature. So just knowing how to use a your email is important. Based on my knowledge of Information technology and my experience in this industry the function of computers should be, basically, second hand knowledge. It is extremely important to be computer literate because in order to perform well and at a steady pace is vital for this job. Given the history trends of computing, the evolution of technology as a whole, will sky rocket in the next ten years. I can imagine even faster and high tech computers. I can even imagine have an entirely revamped version of Microsoft offices making it easier to use.
